A Little Bit About Me
I am a maker, entrepreneur, and product manager at both big tech firms and startups.
Friends have described me as: "enigmatic", "esoteric", "eccentric" . Yet in my view the principle that threads through what I say and do is simple: make the most out of my limited time in this world.
Since a young age, I have been following a recurring pattern that goes something like this: Identifying the conventional and prevailing narrative of "success". Working really hard to pursue it. Noticing misalignment with what I really wanted. Abruptly snapping out of it.
From being a "good boy" who follows teachings, to questioning everything. From studying hard in school, to skipping every lecture. From envying social butterflies, to celebrating solitude. From making all the right career moves, to quitting and striking out on my own.
If I could get a good grasp of the underlying principles, I could take the good parts, reject the rest, and develop my own path .
This thinking led me to "front-load my retirement" . Not traveling more is a common regret many people have. So I decided to skip all my lectures in college, to go travel the world. It wasn't easy. I took on freelance and part-time work to fund it. And I had to wake up early every morning, and say no to backpacker parties.
By the time I started my first full-time job, I had travelled to over 70 countries. Though my current belief is that travelling is in many ways overrated, I still learned a ton in the process. If nothing else, it allows me to readily escape cultural gravity . To me, this is a low-tier superpower.
My current mission is to better make sense of the world, and share my learnings. Live my best life, and help others do the same. I certainly don't have all the answers. But no one does.
Join me in examining the weirdness, teasing apart the complexity, and more fully appreciating the beauty of the human condition.
Hope you enjoyed this post. Let's stay in touch.
